HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting

 

 

 

 

Overview

This course caters for people who currently or intend to work within an education or care setting and wish to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to confidently manage emergency situations and provide care until medical aid arrives. This course provides you with the first aid skills and knowledge contained within Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) including information in regards to risk management in relation to asthma and anaphylaxis.

 

This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law,  and the Education and care Services National regulations (2011)

 

Specific licencising/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the Australian Children's Eduction and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and or relevant state/territory Work Health Safety (WHS) and Safety Regulatory Authority.

Course Duration

Scheduled Classes 8 Hour per day

This is an Entry Level Course. There are no pre-requisites for entry into this course.

Recognition of Prior Learning is not offered as part of this course.

 

HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting also includes the units of HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. This unit is required to be undertaken every three (3) years to remain current. CPR is required to be renewed every 12 months
